The Shining Stephen king

The Shining
By Stephen King
The shining was a great book. It takes a somewhat “normal” family and puts a twist on it. A recovering alcoholic lost his job due to his alcohol problem. He also lost his creative writing edger . The father is hoping,  some fellow friends will help him get his job back while he works as a winter caretaker at a mountain resort. Danny the son, posses psychic powers. The whole family moves to the hotel were thing go bad start.
This book had many different ideas in which many readers could relate to. I line that stood out to me was  “The greatest terror of Danny's life was DIVORCE, a word ... that always appeared in his mind as a sign painted in red letters which were covered in hissing, poisonous snakes.” Divorce is a family biggest down fall. Breaking up a family can destroy all the family members. As the booked moved along the family started to drift apart. The father got catch up with his anger towards the world and redirect to his very own family. Stephen King did a great job capturing that anger. The sprites controlling the father came at an eases his state of mind prone him for that.
A recurring theme in the story was alcoholism. That’s  what leaded the family to where they ended up at. This was a big problem and just like in the real world it can drive a family to the ground. Alcoholism is a disease that affects all in which are in contact with the infected person.  The father in the story, relationship slipped away from him by his drinking problem. This all leaded to the violence that took place after.

In the photo we can see a lack of activity in the brain for simple tasks. In my opinion, since the father was an alcoholic he wasn’t able to response to well to any regular activity thus leaving him weak minded and he was easy to be controlled and do any evil doing.
1) Why didn’t the father try to work out at his old job and not leave to another job?
I asked this the father could of stayed there and fought for this job.
2) was it really the devil in the hotel?
3) Did Danny really have psychic abilities.
I got he had overactive imagination, combined with a keen sense of awareness, wishful thinking, and luck.
4) why did the father give into his drinking?
5) why did Stephen choose to have REDRUM in the mirror instead of showing MURDER?
Over all I think this was a great book. I like how the house was alive and its has it all from family problems to killing. I would recommend this book to all. The book we knock you on your butt, its that good. The book was made into a book, though it is a bit different it still capture the overall message of the book alcohol, divorce, job loss, humiliation, and abuse.
